go to the home page of the creator of the script that produces the calendar and download the program you will need. Go to -
http://www.riechmann-online.de/adcal/
AOL friends click here==>Download Calendar file and click on the first download link that says 'Download Active Desktop Calendar'.

Your browser download Window will popup and ask you what to do. Select the 'Save' or 'Save file to disk' option and a 'Save as' Window will appear. Select a place to save the file.

It is a zipped file - to access a tutorial on downloading and installing Winzip. Visit -
http://www.tell-me-how.com/tuts/winzip
AOL friends click here==>Winzip Tutorial to learn how to obtain the Winzip program because you will need it.

Once you have selected a place to save the file, press 'OK'.

You will need to extract the zipped file so make sure you follow the turorial and download and install Winzip.

When you have unzipped the download file you need to install the calendar by clicking on a file called 'swsetup.exe' that you will find in the folder that the unzipped files were extracted to.

This will start an instalaltion wizard and you just need to follow the prompts by clicking the 'Next' button until the program is installed.

Now before the calendar will work, you need to activate Windows 'Active Desktop'. The WIndows 'Active Desktop' feature enables your desktop to act like a web page and this allows the calendar program to work.

To enable the 'Active Desktop' just click your right mouse on an empty part of your desktop, select the 'Active Desktop' option from the popup menu and then select the 'Customize My Desktop' option.

Now to activate the calendar on your desktop right click on an empty part of your desktop again, click on the 'Properties' option from the popup menu. Select the 'Background' tab from the popup Window and find the 'Desktop Calendar 1.95' from the list and click on it to select it and press 'OK'.

The Calendar will now appear on your desktop. You can change the language settings, how the days are represented, the first day of the week etc.

I hope you find this a handy little utility to have.

Best wishes

Terry
