Web Browser tips

Today I have some Web Browser tips that can make using your browser a little easier.

Let's say you are browsing the web and you find a page you would think you might visit regularly. You can ....

A. Add it to your favorites
In Internet explorer you -
1. click on the 'Favorites' option at the top of the screen
2. click on 'Add to Favorites'
3. save it to a folder of your choice

In Netscape you -
1. click on the 'Communicator' option at the top of the screen
2. click on 'Bookmarks'
3. click on 'Add to Bookmarks'(if you want to specify where to put the bookmark in Netscape you need to click on 'File Bookmark')

B. Add a 'shortcut' to the desktop
This puts a shortcut icon on you desktop that points to the web page you were on. To do this just click the RIGHT mouse button anywhere on the web screen and select 'Create shortcut' from the popup Window. A shortcut will be placed on your desktop.

The shortcut will be created in whichever browser is your default browser (assuming you have more than one installed).

Internet Explorer will give the shortcut a name based on the URL of the web page. The URL (Universal Resource Locator) is the web 'address' of the web page.

Netscape will allow you to type your own name or 'description' for the shortcut.

Just a friendly suggestion - don't create shortcuts every where you go or you end up with dozens of browser icons all over your desktop and you don't want a cluttered desktop.
